May 17, Day 3!Highlights: The scaffolding went up today to get ready to put up the walls of the ice castle. Most of the routing is complete. The slides are almost all assembled and are being moved into place on the hillside. The concrete for 25 posts has been poured. The fence is starting to take shape, and the seiner is actually starting to look like a boat! Tyler Rental brought out all of the heavy equipment today, and Good Hardware has been there at a moment's notice throughout the project.
Special thanks today to the Adolescent Montessori program, who has been out everyday so far, the Knights of Columbus for bringing out a group of volunteers, and Full Circle Farm for donating and delivering all of the fresh fruit we've been eating all week. There's plenty more in the food trailer! Also thanks Dan Spady from Northland, and Marc Matsil from CBJ for all of their hard work and dedication!
